Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth

With increased hostility in the ring and new found contempt for the WWE Universe, R-Truth isn’t all that interested in making friends on Raw, and at WWE Over the Limit, the aggressive Superstar once admired for his skills on the mic and the dance floor goes up against one of the red brand’s hottest acquisitions in the 2011 WWE Draft: Rey Mysterio.

Deeming himself the victim of an elaborate “conspiracy” that is preventing him from attaining championship glory, an irate Truth accepted The Master of the 619’s proposal to settle their differences this Sunday in Seattle, and is no doubt looking forward to venting his frustrations on one of the most beloved Superstars on the WWE roster. However, one should never dismiss the aerial talents and undying fighting spirit of The Ultimate Underdog.

After John Morrison challenged and defeated Truth to earn an opportunity to compete for the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules, Truth lashed out at The Prince of Parkour, leaving his friend battered and broken in a heap at ringside. Boldly proclaiming that dedicating himself to entertaining the WWE Universe has yielded him little success in the ring over the years, a frighteningly determined Truth gave his fans “the boot” and continued to assault Morrison at every turn, ultimately costing The Shaman of Sexy his first WWE Championship at the May 1 pay-per-view. Although Truth lost his opportunity to compete in the WWE Title encounter that night, he nevertheless made a startling impact that affected its outcome.

Attacking Morrison and putting him out of action for several weeks with a neck injury, Truth then widened the scope of his brutality, lambasting the likes of Alberto Del Rio, The Miz and Mysterio on the May 9 edition of Raw. After belittling The Ultimate Underdog to his face, Truth added injury to insult later that night by ambushing Mysterio following a hard-fought No. 1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match for John Cena’s WWE Championship. Still reeling after The Miz stole the victory and a WWE Title opportunity, The Masked Superstar learned – just as Morrison did before him – that “The Truth” hurts.

Will Rey Mysterio silence his formerly “crunk” opponent? Or will R-Truth show The Master of the 619 “what’s up?”
